Thursday - Moki and I went to Cadence therapeutic riding today. The improvement in all the people I've worked with is truly amazing. Not long to go before it stops for the winter. I'll miss it.
Friday - Tonight was steak fry night at square dancing. I had chicken! The food was delicious . . . everyone brought a side dish to share . . . I brought cookies, and later on, I almost finished them all by myself! Then we had square dancing, and I still struggle with some of the advanced calls. I'm going to attend the beginners lessons again, and hopefully that will help. My friend, Shirley, who lives in Pagosa, told me that a lot of beginners quit when it gets to the advanced calls. I found that interesting. That tells me the instructor needs to focus longer on the advanced calls. I know it would have helped me.
Saturday - I got good use of my new computer-telephone device today. Jadwiga, my friend from Germany that I met at the ashram, called me and we talked for over an hour! The sound was good, and it worked perfectly.
When I saw Aubrey today, she asked if I wanted to go look at her new thoroughbred mare. We walked through a gate, then down a perfectly vertical ladder (scary!), and across some mud, and then over to the mare's pen. Rider, Aubrey's gelding, and Stuart, the pony were hanging around the pen. The new mare is sorrel (kind of a red color), just like Rider.
Sunday - I drove to Durango today and met Rosemary. We went to the Whole Expo Health fair. It was more like a woo-woo fair. Not much health and lots of woo! But, it was fun. We tasted some chocolate that had more antioxidents than spinach. It was awesome! I bought a couple crystals and another hematite ring. I met Les and Kay there from Durango square dance.
Monday - This evening I drove to Cortez to help with square dance lessons. It was fun. Driving home, all I could see was lightning all over and no thunder. Then the rain started, and I could barely see while I was driving. Then the thunder and the rain. I took the wrong turn off, but realized it right away. What a great lightshow this was! Awesome!
Tuesday - therapeutic riding. I took pictures today, and had a couple guys sign release forms. Their pictures will be small, but I still needed them. One of their sisters called this evening to say the family didn't want me to use the pictures. This messes up my plans, but I'll deal with it. Maybe I'll use just the horses, instead.
Thursday - therapeutic riding. I took pictures of therapeutic riding horses today, and it will make the book even better! When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!
