Out of Africa - twice

There is a place about an hour away from here called Out of Africa.  When I first moved to town, I spent a pleasant day there with my neighbors.  Then, a year later, I went with a friend.  Both times, it was an enjoyable experience.  The advertisement for this place says something like . . . call us anything you want, but don't call us a zoo.  The animals here have extremely large enclosures, and are well cared for.  Most of them are tame.  The owners live on premises and the animals are pretty much their pets.  They are awesome.  The last time I went, two of the demonstrations were given by one of the owners.  It was very cool.
A giraffe taking a treat from my mouth.  I LOVE this kind of stuff!

I really like zebras.  Ostriches are cool, too!

This was the tiger show.  They get the tigers into this enclosure in front of the audience, and then play with them with inflatable toys (that the tigers destroy, but they have fun doing it) to get them into the water.  Tigers love to swim.  They also hug the tigers a lot.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE that.

Did you know that I used to work with lions and tigers and other wild animals?  Here is a picture of me at about twenty years old with my friend, Dee, and her pet tiger, BC.  Me and my ex-husband babysat the tiger for her on this night.
